Abstract

968,938. Rollers. E. KUSTERS, [trading as TEXTILMASCHINEN EDUARD KUSTERS]. July 11, 1962 [July 11, 1961], No. 26596/62. Heading F2U. [Also in Divisions D1 and D2] A calender roller 2 comprises a tubular hollow cylinder made of polyamide synthetic material or super-polyamide synthetic material and is supported for rotation by an inner roller 3 which bears against the inner periphery of the roller 2 along a longitudinal line or zone 4 adjacent the working contact point of the cylinder. The supporting roller 3 and counter roller 1 are of steel, and the supporting roller 3 may have longitudinal bores for the passage of a cooling medium whilst the counter roller 1 may be electrically heated. The drive may be effected through the counter roller 1, supporting roller 3 or roller 2. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which rollers 2, 2<SP>1</SP> are located on opposite sides of a counter roller 1.
