[Also in Divisions E1 and H5] A laminated floor, wall or road surface comprises an upper layer of a conventional material, an intermediate layer in which a source of heat is embedded and a lower layer of a foamed material. The upper layer for a road or bridge may comprise a mixture of bitumen, small particles of stone and possibly epoxy resin, or alternatively metal, stone, wood or an elastomeric material. The upper layer for a floor of a building may be of an elastomeric material which may be a thermoplastic or thermosetting composition. Various sample compositions are listed. The elastomeric material may be reinforced by glass fibre. The intermediate layer may comprise plastics material in which are embedded conduits for hot water or oil or in which is embedded an electrical conductor in the form of sprayed metal, a printed circuit, conducting wires, strips, cables or panels. The lower layer comprises a rigid foam of plastics material, examples of suitable material being listed, which may be reinforced by glass fibre or metal in the form of rods, gauze, sheet or fabric.
