Abstract

1,202,924. Electrically conductive flooring. A. QUILIGOTTI & CO. Ltd. 29 Nov., 1967 [12 July, 1967], No. 32067/67. Heading BIG. Flooring having antistatic properties comprises a waterproof shallow tank shaped layer 20 of bituminous felt or P.V.C. an insulating layer 22 of bitumen coated, polyethylene sheeting or an epoxy resin, terrazo tiles 25, which have been rendered conductive by the inclusion of carbon black in the cement backing and magnesium chloride in the terrazo surface, secured by bedding material 26 which also includes carbon black or magnesium chloride, and copper strips 23 connected via parallel resistors 24 to earth. In another embodiment a monolithic magnerite flooring is keyed to the layer 22 by an epoxy based adhesive.
