A flooring panel consists of a number of abutting floor blocks secured by an adhesive to a backing sheet of fibreglass net. The floor blocks may be of wood, and desirably expose the end grain as the wearing surface. Suitable adhesives include neoprene latex, or thermoplastic adhesives such as a bituminous emulsion with or without rubber latex, or thermosetting adhesives, such as phenolformaldehyde resin. Interconnection between abutting faces of the blocks may be provided by means of fingers and grooves, or by providing rabbeted lower edges on some blocks with corresponding rabbeted upper edges on others. The panels may be prepared by coating the fibreglass net with the adhesive and then applying the net to the assembled blocks, preferably applying pressure via a roller. The panels are suitably adhered to the floor by means of a trowelable layer of neoprene latex adhesive, or bitumen latex or a mixture of sand, cement, bitumen, and water may be employed.
