841,867. Deck surfaces. ROWAN &BODEN Ltd. July 16, 1956 [July 20, 1955], No. 20976/55. Class 113. A method of surfacing a deck comprises adhering thereto at least one layer of heat and/or sound insulating material having a non-labyrinthal cellular structure and consisting of polyvinylchloride, polyurethane, polystyrene or other synthetic resin in expanded foam form, and providing a top covering over the latter. Fig. 1 shows a non-weather deck 5 with insulating material 6 and a conventional top covering 7, of linoleum, rubber or neoprene or plastic or cork tiles or a composite mixture of a paste, powder and filler. In Fig. 2, a weather deck 8, primed with a fluid mix, has an underlay 9 of paste, powder and filler, insulating material 10, a composite mixture 11 of paste, powder and filler reinforced by a wire network 12, a screed or screed over the surface of the mixture 11, and a coating 13 of sealing compound.
