922,886. Mounting heating elements in floors. J. A. HEWETSON & CO. Ltd., and D. MURRAY. June 21, 1961 [Aug. 9, 1960], No. 27503/60. Class 39 (3). A floor designed for the incorporation of an electric heating element includes a solid layer having grooves for the receipt of the heating element in at least one of its faces, and a surface layer. Grooved blocks 3 fit together to form a network of grooves 5 to accommodate heating cable 6, which may be held in the grooves by staples. The blocks rest upon a moisture-impervious layer 2 of polyvinyl chloride, and a concrete base 1, and are covered by interlocking parquet panels 4. The grooved blocks 3 may be of resin, cork, asbestos fibre, or compressed and glued wood fibre. The surface layer 4 may alternatively be of plastic or linoleum.
