A gas-blast switch has a nozzle contact 3 movable by gas-blast against the return bias of a spring 13, the nozzle contact comprising an annular contact-making nozzle part 3a connected by conducting parts 3b, 3c to a singlepivoted arm 12. The co-operating contact 4 is movable and an arcing electrode 15 may be provided.
