956,713. Pipe couplings. J. R. H. PRODUCTS & CO. Ltd. Nov. 9, 1961 [Aug. 9, 1960], No. 27543/60. Heading F2G. A pipe 10 has a frusto-spherical part 11 located within the end of a pipe 12 and that part is engaged on opposite sides of the centre thereof by packing rings 17, 18, one of the rings being spring-urged into engagement and the other ring having an outwardly extending flange 19 which is clamped between the pipe 12 and a clamping ring 20 mounted, as by screwing, thereon. As shown, a dished or corrugated spring washer 15 is disposed between a shoulder 14 of the pipe 12 and a brass ring 16. The rings 17, 18 are of polytetrafluoroethylene.
