Abstract

1,098,084. Pipe couplings. WALTER SLINGSBY & CO. Ltd. April 9, 1965 [Feb. 18. 1964], No. 6668/64. Heading F2G. A resilient sealing ring 5 is compressed by a collar 10 screwed on to a fitting 1 and a split collet 13 is wedged between the pipe and collar so that the serrations 15 thereof engage the pipe. The collet is of metal or synthetic plastics material, split in one or more places, and is held in the expanded condition by a spring ring 16. A washer 14 and a bearing ring 6 is disposed between the collet and the ring 5, the latter being surrounded by an extension 7 of the ring 6.
