Abstract
956,468. Shoe-moulding machines. SVIT NARODNI PODNIK. Sept. 8, 1960 [Sept. 9, 1959], No. 30928/60. Heading B5A. The Specification describes an electric control system for a machine for moulding shoe soles to uppers. The machine is heated by elements in a sole-plate, sidewalls and last by closing a switch 50. If the heating system breaks down or a short-circuit occurs, a signal lamp flashes. When the correct temperature is reached a thermostat 74 operates to cut off the heating and operates relay 95, 96 to allow the operation of the machine to take place, first allowing a period of manipulation, during which an operator places an upper on the last and the sole on the plate. A timer then operates to actuate a valve which causes a pneumatic cylinder to rotate the last into its moulding position. Movement of the last operates a switch causing the side walls to close about the last and the sole-plate to be brought into operative position.
