Abstract
953,564. Valves. BRISTOL CO. July 19, 1961 [July 21, 1960], No. 26133/61. Heading F2V. A ganged, demountable assembly of components of a fluid pressure operated apparatus has the components, e.g. pilot valves 12 carried on pedestals 13 secured to bases 14, formed with passages, e.g. 16, 17, 18, 19, and connectors 30, 35 connecting certain of the passages and having end portions in resilient sealing engagement with the passage walls, e.g. by rubber rings 31. Input pressure at 24 is led to a manifold 18 from which it can pass via 16 to valve 12 and thence via 17, 19, 22 to operate the apparatus. The ends of the manifold are closed by sealing plugs 40 held in position by straps 41. The connectors may be of resilient plastic, e.g. a silicon rubber, the ends of which are inflated by the internal pressure to seal in the component passages, and they may be surrounded by close-fitting metal sleeves.
