Abstract

1,018,845. Valves. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 23, 1963 [Oct. 25, 1962], No. 40396/62. Addition to 1,006,070. Heading F2V. The valve of the parent Specification is modified in that sleeves 18 are fitted in the individual inlet ports 12 and in the co-operating port 16 of the valve member, annular spaces 19 being provided between these sleeves and the walls of the bores in which they are fitted, whereby the gas is insulated with the object of preventing loss of heat therefrom. Further, a temperature-sensing element 20 extends into the common passage 15 so that the temperature of the test gas admitted from the individual inlets can be measured.
