Abstract

952,951. Valves. PRATT PRECISION HYDRAULICS Ltd. March 2, 1962 [Feb. 15, 1961], No. 8151/62. Divided out of 956,587. Heading F2V. A fluid-flow control valve comprises an inlet 2, connected by passageway 4 to a bore 5 which houses a regulating valve 9, the flow through the valve passing to an outlet 3 by an adjustable throttle 22. The valve 9 has a closure face 12, inclined to the axis of the valve member, which co-operates with a rightangled seat 11. The throttle 22 is preferably pear-shaped and is adjustable manually by a handle 25 through gearing which also actuates an indicator. The valve 9 provides a constant pressure drop across the throttle, the valve being loaded by a spring 14 and outlet pressure being fed through a port 19 to act on the valve member.
