Abstract

1,107,791. Regulating fluid flow. CHAS. A. BLATCHFORD & SONS Ltd. March 11, 1966 [March 5, 1965], No.9460/65. Heading G3H. [Also in Division F2] A device for controlling the volume of flow of air comprises two loose ball valves 9, 10 held against complete closure by screwed pins 11, 12. The balls 9, 10 co-operate with seats consisting of tapered bores 6, 7 and are held therein by plugs 8. The bores 6, 7 are housed in plugs 2, 3, fitted in bores 4, 5 of the main body 1. The main body 1 is provided with air inlet 13 and outlet 14. Pins 11, 12 are threaded into extensions 4A, 5A or bores 6, 7 and their degree of penetration into these bores is adjusted by rotation of the pins with the aid of projections 11A, 12A. During normal flow from 13 to 14 ball 9 acts as the air controlling ball but in the event of flow in the reverse direction 10 acts as the controlling ball.
