Abstract

1,063,241. Valves. DRALLIM INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 10, 1963, No. 35188/62. Heading F2V. A combined pressure regulating and relief valve comprises a housing 1 having an inlet 17, an outlet 18 and a valve member 6 having a closure portion 7 controlling the flow from the inlet to the outlet. A piston 20 is subjected on the lower side to outlet pressure and on the upper side to a signal pressure supplied through port 30 thus the valve member 7 controls the outlet pressure in accordance with the signal pressure. If this signal pressure is reduced or the outlet pressure rises above the value set by the signal pressure, the piston rises to allow the portion 7 to seat and lifts a valve member 33 to allow relief through a passage in the valve member 6. The valve member 33 is fixed in a boss 23 which itself may form the valve member and may have limited loss motion with respect to the piston. A diaphragm may overlie or replace the piston. The signal pressure may be controlled by an on-off plug valve or by a pressure regulating valve. Pressure gauges may be fitted to tappings in the inlet and outlet ports.
