Abstract
1281133 Valves G. KROMSCHRÍDER AG 1 Oct 1970 [4 Oct 1969] 46714/70 Heading F2V [Also in Divisions F1 and F4] A valve 1 has a closure member 7 opened by a rod 10 so as to abut an adjustable stop 33. The valve is controlled by means 2 comprising an electrically driven pump 18, 19, 20, disposed in a storage tank 11 containing a pressure fluid and having a working pressure chamber 14 closed by a diaphragm 13 or piston which acts on the rod 10. A pressure-responsive switch 16, 31 connected with the chamber 14, cuts out the motor when the stop 33 is abutted, and cuts it in again before the valve member can disengage from the stop as the pressure gradually falls. Thus the flow rate can be exactly adjusted and maintained, and e.g. in gas or oil burner systems the risk of the flame going out under throttled flow conditions owing to fluctuations, is avoided. The valve 7 is closed by the opening of a solenoid operated vent valve 17, 34-37 connected with chamber 14. A control circuit includes a regulating switch 38, e.g. a thermostat, and a switch 39 associated with a safety device (not shown). In a modification, an additional solenoid operated vent valve (41), Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), is connected with the chamber 14 through a restriction. The control circuit is arranged so that operation of the regulating switch 38 opens this vent valve to give a slow closing action, whereas operation of the safety switch 39 opens both vent valves (17, 41) to give quick closing.
