A refrigerated cabinet 10 having an open front 17 includes a plurality of hollow shelves 30 having perforated upper and lower surfaces 37 and 38 respectively, each shelf being divided by a partition 39 into upper and lower air compartments which communicate respectively with a manifold 23 (Fig. 3) connected to the suction side of blower means and a manifold 20 (Fig. 2) connected to the discharge side of said blower means. The latter comprises a lower blower 29 and an upper blower 27 mounted in a storage space 26 at the rear of the manifolds 20, 23, refrigeration coils 28 being located immediately adjacent the discharge of blower 27. Refrigerated air is supplied to the cabinet through perforations 19 in the lower surfaces of an upper header 18 and through the perforations in the lower surfaces 38 of the trays air, and is withdrawn through the perforations in the upper walls 37 of the trays and through perforations 47 in the surface of a lower half-shelf 45. The partitions 39 are formed as slidable trays and have forwardly directed lips 41 which are spaced from the front edges of the surfaces 37. The latter may be grooved along each or alternate rows of perforations so that air circulation may take place when the shelves are occupied.
