Abstract

914,902. Refrigerators. MOTT, J. Oct. 19, 1961 [Oct. 13, 1960], No. 35071/60. Class 29. [Also in Group XIV] A refrigerated storage cabinet has an air duct a<SP>2</SP> at each end of the casing extending from the base to the top, with a fan C at the lower end of each duct to circulate air over a cooling coil B in a compartment b at the bottom of the casing and through the upper part of the casing. As shown, Fig. 2, the vertical ducts a<SP>2</SP> are formed between the outer casing of the cabinet and inner walls W forming the end walls of a main storage compartment. This compartment is separated from the cooling coil compartment b by a plate B<SP>1</SP> having an access door b<SP>2</SP> in its centre. The plate B<SP>1</SP> and walls W have a series of slots or louvres b<SP>3</SP> and as respectively. The slots a<SP>3</SP> may alternatively be plain gauze or mesh covered apertures. The cabinet has a transparent front a, Fig. 3, and sliding doors a<SP>1</SP> in the back. Shelves D are supported on brackets d attached to the rear frame of the casing, the brackets being formed of two wires or rods, the ends of which are bent at right angles to engage sockets in the casing, Fig. 4. The wires or rods may be reinforced by a further longitudinal wire with transverse wires welded thereto. The uppermost wire may be bent upwards to retain the shelf.
