Abstract

889,038. Refrigerators. HILL & CO. Inc., C.V. Feb. 24, 1959 [Feb. 26, 1958], No. 6294/59. Addition to 888,214. Class 29 In an open-top show-case having a lower cooling compartment 16 communicating with vertical air supply and return ducts 18, 20 disposed on opposed sides of storage compartment 8, the compartment 16 contains a fan 26 which draws air from duct 20 over a first horizontal evaporator 22 and forces it over a second vertical evaporator 24 and into duct 18 and the fins 32, 36 on the evaporators are spaced according to the invention of the parent Specification. Fins 32, 36 extend parallel to the air flow. Defrosting heaters 44 are adjacent evaporator 22 and the melt runs into well 28 having drain 46. Warm air from the fan at the start of defrosting plays on the well to melt any ice therein.
