Abstract

949,491. Portable containers; container closures. ELECTROLUBE Ltd. Feb. 18, 1960 [Feb. 27, 1959], No. 7016/59. Headings B8D and B8T. [Also in Division F2] A dispenser comprises a delivery tube 8 which slides in a bore 7 through the neck portion 5 of a body member 2. A cap 15, fitted over the the neck portion, grips the outer end of the tube 8 so that when the cap is pulled away from the body 2 the tube is pulled with it until a rib 9 engages with the inner surface 11 of the body. On further pulling out of the cap it is completely disengaged from the tube. In use the dispenser is fitted to a flexible container 1 which is squeezed to discharge liquid through the tube 8. The container 1 may be replaced by a wider bottle-shaped container. In a modification, the part of tube 8 within the container moves in a central tubular guide the lower end of which is closed and acts as a seating limiting inward movement of the tube. The end of the guide nearest the member 2 is formed with apertures through which the contents of the container can flow in to the tube 8 when it is in its fully extended position.
