Abstract

828,259. Portable storage containers. WURMBROCK G.m.b.H., Dr. April 12, 1957 [April 13, 1956], No. 12112/57. Class 66. [Also in Group XXIII] A container for nail-varnish comprises a resiliently-deformable body 1 normally closed by a cap 3 and an applicator 6 for the varnish which is mounted for longitudinal movement so that deformation of the tube ejects the applicator, the applicator having a shaft 5 which forms a slidevalve with the container so that as the applicator is ejected the valve is opened. The applicator comprises a brush 6, the portion of the shaft 5 below the brush having an annular or part-annular recess 9 enabling the contents of the container to escape past the mounting 4 when the brush is extended. A conical portion 7 on the lower end of the shaft 5 causes its ejection when the tube 1 is squeezed, retraction of the brush being effected by a spiral spring 8. The tube 1 is of synthetic plastic and is closed by a clip 2.
