An applicator for a pressurized dispensing container, e.g. for paint or antiseptic, comprises a cylindrical body 10 slidable on the container 11 and having a socket 18 for receiving the container discharge valve stem 12, socket 18 communicating with a brush 22, or a flexible spade or nib spreader, to which the container contents are discharged on relative axial movement between the applicator body 10 and container 11 to open the discharge valve. A protective cap 24 is provided.
