A removable spray head for operating the spring-biased plunger of a pressurized dispensing container valve, Fig. 2 (not shown), is provided with a hollow stem 80 having a side slot 88 comprising an upper metering portion 91 and a wider lower portion 93 extending to the bottom of the stem. The upper end 90 of the portion 91 extends above the upper end of the plunger socket receiving the stem or into a pocket below the upper end of the plunger.
