Abstract

798,056. Liquid applicators. WARNERLAMBERT PHARMACEUTICAL CO. Dec. 3, 1956, No. 36919/56. Class 19. A liquid applicator comprises a squeezable container 10, a cap 12 mounted on and about the opening of said container and a sponge 20 that is held by a compressed lower portion 24 in the smooth cylindrical bore of the cap 12 by downwardly directed prongs 32 formed integrally with the cap 12. The prongs 32 have radially inward surfaces extending parallel with said cylindrical bore to minimize obstruction to the downward passage of the sponge 20 when said sponge is disassembled from said cap. The crown portion 22 of the sponge 20, which is of polyurethane, is approximately twice the diameter of said compressed neck portion 24.
