Abstract

784,969. Fountain brushes. DUPLI-COLOR PRODUCTS CO., Inc. Nov. 9, 1955 [Feb. 18, 1955], No. 32100/55. Class 19. The removable cap 17 of a fountain brush 11 comprises a tubular member closed at one end and formed with an elongated cylindrical skirt for aligning the cap on the nozzle of the brush and is provided with a small well 18d of reduced diameter near to its closed end which snugly receives the bristles of the brush B after they have been guided into the well by the outwardly flared mouth 18e thereof. A deformable portion of the cup-shaped liner 18 forming the well engages the tapered end 12c of the nozzle when the cap is placed thereon. The dimensions of the cap and brush may be such that the action of placing the cap on the brush causes the bottom of the well to engage the brush bristles and push them partially into the nozzle and thus open a spring- loaded valve controlling the flow of liquid through a passage in the nozzle.
