Abstract
948,675. Diaphragm pistons. EATON AXLES Ltd., and EAST LANCASHIRE PLASTICS Ltd. Nov. 8, 1962 [Oct. 25, 1961], No. 38249/61. Heading F2T. [Also in Division F1] An hydraulic accumulator has a normally hemispherical flexible diaphragm 4 of P.V.C. material gripped between the edges of a pair of hemispherical former members 1 and having on each side an annular rib positioned to contact the inner surface of the adjacent former 1, and being held in position by an outer layer 5 of fibre glass. A peripheral rib of the diaphragm is outwardly flared at an angle of about 60 degrees (Fig. 2, not shown) before being gripped between the edges of the formers 1, and the faces of the annular ribs are inclined at about 60 degrees to the centre line of the peripheral rib.
