Abstract

1537492 Diaphragm pistons BENDIX WESTINGHOUSE Ltd 25 March 1976 [15 April 1975] 15353/75 Heading F2T A diaphragm, e.g. for use in a vehicle brake actuator or in a diaphragm pump, has regions comprising polyurethane sheet and a peripheral bead of a different material. Fig. 1 shows a diaphragm of polyurethane sheet 10 with a moulded rubber bead 12. The diaphragm may be a sandwich of polyurethane, 10, in rubber, 14, as in Fig. 2, or a sandwich of rubber 16 in polyurethane 18, as in Fig. 3 (not shown).
