Abstract
948,433. Glazing strips. P. F. JONES. March 11, 1960 [March 13, 1959], No.8720/59. Heading E1R. A window is double glazed by securing to the interior face of the sash frame F rubber or synthetic resin strips A, A<SP>1</SP> having glass receiving channels B or recesses shaped to form channels against the face of the frame. The stripes A<SP>1</SP> are used for the mullions and transoms and similar strips may be used between small glass panes without attachment to the frame. Lengths of rubber N hold the outer walls of the strips against the glass and cover the heads of nails or screws which may be used in addition to adhesive. A metal plate L may be previously bonded to the underface of the strip and the adhesive may have been previously applied and have a protective covering.
