Abstract

A turbine blade is formed of high temperature ferritic stainless steel containing from 12-14% Cr and containing not more than 2% of each of the other alloying elements. It may contain .23% C, .87% Mn, .14% Si, 13.2% Cr, .70% Ni, 1.01% Mo, .25% V, and 1.02% W, the remainder being iron. A projection integral with the blade which is to be connected to a corresponding projection of an adjacent blade upon assembly (see Division F1) is provided with a tip of more readily weldable alloy which may contain .10% C, .47% Mn, .41% Si, 12.16% Cr, .13% Ni, .01% Mo, .03% N, the remainder being iron.
