Abstract

Mortar concentrates for tile fixatives comprise by weight 73 to 94% Portland or aluminous cement, 5 to 24% polyvinyl acetate powder and 1 to 2 1/2 methyl cellulose methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose or hydroxyethyl cellulose. The concentrates may be mixed with 3 to 4 parts by weight of clean sharp sand and with water to provide a tile fixative. The compositions may be rendered waterproof by adding a stearate, e.g. calcium stearate, and bonding may be improved by incorporating rubber latex.ALSO:Mortar concentrates for tile fixatives comprise by weight 73 to 94% Portland or aluminous cement, 5 to 24% polyvinyl acetate powder and 1 to 2 1/2 % methyl cellulose, methyl-hydroxyethyl cellulose or hydroxyethyl cellulose.
