Abstract

A composition which forms an adhesive on mixing with water comprises a polyvinyl ester, a cellulose derivative, a cement and marble powder. The preferred composition comprises 0.1-2% methyl hydroxyethylcellulose, 2-20% polyvinyl acetate, 15-50% white Portland cement and 30-80% marble powder, by weight. 3 parts by weight of the above composition in powder form may be mixed with 1 to 1 1/4 parts of water to form an adhesive for ceramic or glass surfaces.
