Abstract

943,760. Valves. MIDLAND COUNTIES DAIRY Ltd. Oct. 25, 1962 [Nov. 14, 1961], No. 40612/61. Heading F2V. A valve device for attachment to the end of a hose to prevent wastage of water comprises a valve closure member 18 having a valve head 17, urged towards a seat 16 by the water supplied through the hose 21, and a spindle 19 which extends through the valve outlet passage 12 into a flexible delivery nozzle 10. When the delivery nozzle is picked up from the ground, the nozzle flexes, as shown, and tilts the valve to allow delivery of water. When the nozzle is released it straightens allowing the valve to close.
