Abstract

1397048 Spray producers BIRD MACHINE CO INC 18 Sept 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 43780/73 Heading B2F Shower apparatus comprises a pressure fluid conduit 10 serving as a manifold and a nozzle having a body 16 extending into the conduit and having an outlet 32 outside the conduit, and a valve member 40 urged by spring means towards a purge position, Fig. 3, in which the capacity of the spray is relatively unrestricted, and urged, when the pressure in the conduit is raised above a given level, to a spray position, Fig. 2 (not shown), in which the capacity is restricted, fluid flowing in both positions through a passage 44, and in the purge position also flowing between the valve member 40 and the body 16. The spring means is a resilient diaphragm 34 with one side exposed to the pressure in the conduit. In the spray position the putlet 32 is partially blocked by a cap 22 and a fan-shaped spray is produced; or by having helical grooves between the valve member and body a conical spray can be produced. Valves (12), Fig. 1 (not shown) in the conduit 10 may be controlled manually, or automatically, e.g. by a timer.
