Abstract

Electromagnetically actuated shut-off valve in liquid conduits, the opening and closure of which are performed by means of a diaphragm. This diaphragm, which is clamped at the edge, is closed and held in position centrally by an electromagnetically controlled valve, thereby keeping closed the outlet pipe. The closing pressure is determined by the liquid flowing in next to the outlet pipe, which passes behind the diaphragm through a very small opening and presses it onto the valve seat. When the central valve is released, the pressure-generating liquid flows off and the closing pressure on the diaphragm decreases, its elasticity allows a change in position and the outlet opening is freed. The diaphragm is closed again without a spring and solely by closing the central valve by virtue of the renewed build-up of the pressure of the liquid flowing in through the small opening in the diaphragm.
