Abstract

The nozzle provides irrigation by droplets, the rate of feed being independent of the water pressure in the supply pipe. The water enters from this pipe (2) into a chamber in the body of the nozzle. In the chamber is a thick dished diaphragm (108) provided with a hole (112) through its centre. The water pressure flexes this diaphragm, altering the hole diameter and regulating the flow through it. The water passes through an orifice (111) in a retainer cap (110) sealing the diaphragm slong a helical channel (102) and through labyrinth grooves (105) where it is discharged (106) as droplets out of an inner body (101).
