942,900. Cartons. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. May 9, 1962 [Aug. 17, 1961; Oct. 24, 1961], Nos. 29758/61 and 38083/61. Heading B8P. A carton comprises gusset panels 14, 21 extending between side panels 1, 2 and end panels 7 and having hinged, by means of a fold line 16, to the gusset panel, a locking flap 15 with a tongue 17 which in the erected condition of the box locates in a slit 18 in the base 5. Panel 14 may be adhered to the end wall and locking panel 15 may be adhered to the base. Flaps 19 are provided on the tops of the side walls and one of these may be replaced by a hinged lid or a loose lid may be provided. In a further embodiment (not shown) the gusset flans are L-shaped. The side and end walls may be inclined at an angle other than a right angle to the base.
