942,243. Tines with grippers for lifting stacks of articles. A. T. VAN HUET. July 27, 1962 [Jan. 18, 1962], No. 28987/62. Heading B8H. Pins 5 are projected laterally from tines 1 by a lever 3 pivoted about a vertical pin 2 when a rod 10 which engages the end 3b of the lever 3 by means of an annularly grooved sleeve 7 is moved longitudinally. The pins 5 are pivoted to either end of a lever 4 which is pivoted on the end 3a of the lever 3. The sleeves 7 are moved resiliently by sleeves 12 fixed to the rod 10 and coilsprings 11. The pins clamp a lower layer of spaced bricks in a stack against the flat side of the adjacent tine.
