[Also in Division A4] A clip comprises first and second members 10, 12 the first member 10 including an end wall 18 and a pair of arms 14, 16 of different lengths providing a bight between the arms one of which provides a finger-grip 21 and a clip portion 16, the second member including a second clip portion 32 and a second finger-grip 34, means supporting the second member on the shorter arm of the first member with the second clip portion 32 superposed over the first clip portion 16 and with spring means 26 urging these portions together, an acute angled corner 20 being formed at the junction of the end wall 18 and the first finger grip 21 to inhibit slippage from the fingers of a user. As shown applied to a pin curl hair clip, the members 10, 12 are pivoted together by a stud and socket connection 30, 38 and an edge 24 of a cut-end 22 in the member 10 provides additional grip at the finger grip 21. The spring means 26 which consists of a spring tongue extending from the arm 14 and extends through a slot 36 in the finger grip 34, engages a protruberance 40 on the member 12 in the gripping condition of the clip, but rides over the protruberance as the clip is opened, whereby to prevent overstressing the spring tongue. In another arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown), the cut-out 22 is replaced by a circular hole adjacent the wall 18 and the spring means 26 consists of co-operating spring tongues on the arm 14 and finger grip 34 respectively. The clip may be used in combination with or a hair roller.
