In an air distributer device for location in a wall or ceiling with the mouth of an air discharge outlet substantially flush therewith, a deflector plate is located centrally in the discharge outlet substantially in the plane of the outlet mouth and a perforated plate bounded by the periphery of the mouth is located substantially coplanar with the deflector plate. As shown, air enters a chamber 14 from a supply duct 17 and passes through a tubular part 13 in the chamber normal to the supply duct axis into a diffuser 11 formed of a dished or flared plate having a central aperture 12. The deflector plate 18 turns the air away from the diffuser axis to pass out through the perforated plate 19. The ratio of the area of perforations in this plate to the gross area of the perforated portion is between 0.40 and 0.45.
