Abstract
A high-temperature oxidation-resistant alloy has the following percentage composition, by weight: .W.at least 45 .Cr.20-40 .Ti.1-25 The alloy may also contain one or more of Fe, Ni and Co up to a total of 10%. The alloy may be made by arc-melting, by powder metallurgy (preferably with explosive compaction) or by rolling and forging a stainless steel tube containing an uncompacted powder blend. The tube may be evacuated before rolling. The production of hot rolls for rolling mills, furnace parts, high-temperature extrusion dies and flame tips for gas burners is referred to.
