An aerial 1 is coupled to the base-emitter input circuit of a transistor 8 by means of a tuned transformer 10, 7 and a capacitance 4, the ratio of the turns of the transformer being equal to (within 20%) the ratio between capacitances 4 and 5, the latter being connected across the base bias resistor 9. The circuit is designed to suppress the image frequency of the incoming signal. The primary 3 of the transformer may include an aerial rod 10.
