Abstract

784,709. Circuit assemblies for radio receivers. STANDARD COIL PRODUCTS CO., Inc. March 30, 1954 [Aug. 13, 1953], No. 9312/54. Class 37. An intermediate-frequency amplifier for a television receiver comprises a plurality of stages each of which comprises an amplifier valve mounted on a ceramic base on which the major portion of the associated circuit is printed. The input and output tuned circuits of the amplifier are mounted upon ceramic cylinders 80 and 60 respectively; each cylinder carries a coil and a silvered portion co-operating with a screw passing within the cylinder to form a variable capacitor tuning the corresponding coil. The input and output circuits of each stage are separated by a screen 95 having protruding fingers at each end which pass through slots in the ceramic base and are then deformed to hold the screen in place. The resistors of the circuit are deposited in printed form upon the ceramic base; fixed capacitors, such as capacitor 26, are of disc form and are soldered in place in slots in the ceramic base.
