Abstract

1,008,540. Transistor frequency-changing circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 22, 1961 [Dec. 27, 1960]; No. 46047/61. Heading H3T. In a frequency changing circuit, the transistor has an intermediate frequency absorption circuit connected across its input electrodes, the coil of the absorption circuit being shunted by a damping resistor. Fig. 2 shows a television receiver in which signals are amplified by transistor 20 before being coupled by the circuit 3, 2, 5 to the frequency-changing transistor 1. The local oscillator 16 is coupled via an inductor 19 and capacitor 9 to the base of transistor 1. The inductor 19 increases the coupling at higher frequencies. An intermediate frequency absorption circuit 6, 7 is damped by resistor 8 so that it does not affect the required pass bands. Different channels are selected by replacing coils 3, 15, 17.
