Abstract
937,667. Insulating cable and wire joints and terminals. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 16, 1961 [March 15, 19 No. 9023/60. Class 38 (1). An insulating shroud for a conductor joint, in, for example, a bus-bar distribution system, comprises two similar half-shrouds 20a, 20b, slidable on insulating sleeves 12a and held together, when in place around the joint, by interlocking flanges 20c (Fig. 2) and by bolts 20g co-operating with slotted members 20e. A bolt and a slotted member may be omitted from one side of each half shroud, and the remaining two pairs strengthened with the face of the parts of the shrouds holding the bolts sloped to increase the coupling grip (Fig. 3, 4, not shown), whilst the two half-shrouds may be moulded in different shapes, depending on the type of connection to be covered (Fig. 5, not shown).
