Abstract

936,983. Supplying fuel to carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES S.I.B.E. June 26, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 23031/61. Class 7(3). A fuel supply arrangement for carburetters of internalcombustion engines comprises two distinct pump units, for example of the diaphragm type, one 13 having a large pumping surface, long stroke and small pressure and the other 14 a small pumping surface, a small stroke and high pressure, the first of these pump units supplying a float chamber 16 adapted to provide a supply head for the second of the pump units. The valve 7 is subjected in opposite directions to the action of the pressure of the fuel to be injected and to the force provided by a control system, comprising a diaphragm 10 which system is sensitive to the flow rate of air passing through the induction pipe 1. Surplus fuel is returned through a pipe 12 to the float chamber 16. Specification 884,952 is referred to.
