Abstract

936,669. Slicing machines. H. KOCH, and V. KOCH, [trading as RITTERWERK F. RITTER & SOHN]. Aug. 17, 1960 [Sept. 8, 1959], No. 28460/60. Class 28 (2). The circular cutter blade 4 in a slicing machine is rotated through gears 5, 7 by a handle 6 and is mounted on the machine frame 2 by a large-head screw 13 recessed at 24 for coin insertion for tightening or slackening. The blade is recessed at 23 to accommodate both the screw 13 and a sheet steel clamping disc 16 which is held on the screw shank by a circlip 22. When screwed home from the slackened position shown into a bore 12 in a socket 25 the head of the screw 13 engages resilient projections 17, 18 on the disc 16 which in turn is pressed into gentle contact with a fibre ring 15 whilst being held against rotation by burrs or lips 21 on its same face bearing against the end face 14 of a bearing bush 3. A vulcanized fibre shim 10 is interposed between the gear 5 and an annular projection 11 of the frame. The projections 17, 18 and burrs or lips 21 may be produced by punching out the disc 16.
