836,869. Securing articles on shafts. BILSTEIN, W. July 28, 1958, No. 24226/58. Class 80 (2). An article such as a bush, sleeve, hub, or the blade holder of multiple circular shears is secured to a shaft or the like of circular cross-section by a split resilient ring 4 having an inner diameter less than the diameter of the shaft to give light frictional engagement. The outer periphery of the ring is eccentric and is disposed in an eccentric groove 3 of the article 1 so that the article may be clamped on the shaft by rotating the article relatively to the ring. Balls 5 or other antifriction means may be interposed between the ring and the base of the groove to facilitate such relative rotation and the inner periphery of the ring may be roughened to increase its frictional grip on the shaft.
