Abstract

936,150. Knitting-machines. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. March 2, 1960 [July 31, 1959], No. 7354/60. Class 74 (2). Some, but not all, of the needle cams of a multi-feed circular machine can be moved parallel to the needles by a screw jack of which the screw-threads are concentric with the needle cylinder axis. Cam slides 5 acting on long needle-butts 72 only, are carried in an annular member 1, in screw-threaded engagement at 12 with a ring 4 by rotation of which the member 1 is adjustable in height, the members 1, 4 forming a screw jack. Each slide is moved in the direction of the arrow P between operative and inoperative positions and, when operative, causes the long butted needles to descend further than does the stitch cam 6, which acts also on short butts 71. A spring 9 between the member 1 and either of members 3, 21 on the cam cylinder, takes up any play between the flanks of the screw threads.
