Abstract

935,616. Nuts. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. April 11, 1961 [May 18, 1960], No. 17608/60. Class 89 (1). A sheet-metal nut adapted to be secured detachably to a support a, b comprises a base 1 with an aperture 3 formed to receive a screw &c. 4 for securing a part (not shown) to the support, and a portion 5 integral with the base and having one or more resilient fingers 6 for insertion through recesses or apertures 9 in the support, the fingers having a bent portion for engaging the face of the support adjacent the aperture 9. The base 1 is inserted through a slot 10 in the support as the fingers 6 are snapped through the apertures 9. In Fig. 3, the fingers 6 extend to one side of the base 1a and the portion 5a to the other. Alternatively, Fig. 4, the fingers 6b and base 1b may extend to opposite sides of the portion 5b.
