Abstract

842,394. Spring clips; stud and socket fasteners; anchor nuts. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. March 27, 1958 [Jan. 1, 1957], No. 50/57. Classes 44 and 89(1). A fastener formed of resilient sheet metal comprises a base 1 having means for engaging an article to secure the fastener to the article, the base being slotted to provide out of the base at least one spring finger 6 such that when the fastener is inserted into a channel of suitable width, the or each spring finger is stressed by a side wall of the channel whereby the fastener is held in position in the channel. As shown two spring fingers 6 are provided, the outer corners of the free ends being rounded to provide extending cam surfaces. The means for engaging the article comprises a pair of tongues 2 as disclosed in Specification 534,183 for engaging a screw or stud. The base of the fastener is arched upwardly. In a modification each end of the base can be provided with at least one spring finger.
